Canberra Scottish Fiddlers performed at Merry Muse in Canberra on Friday 25 November 2011

A fun St Andrews Night of Scottish music, dance and song was held on Friday 25 November 2011 at Canberra's Merry Muse. Featuring Strathmannan, Seamus Gill, Lachlan Green, Canberra Scottish Fiddlers, Jane Campbell and ceilidh dancing with Claire Stoneman. There was even haggis and a wee dram.

2011 National Folk Festival Celtic Fiddle Rally in Canberra

The Canberra Scottish Fiddlers performed as part of the Festival Fiddle Rally at the 2011 National Folk Festival in Canberra at Easter. The Fiddle Rally was conducted by Canberra's Lachlan Green.

The Fiddle Rally concert was held on the main stage of the Budawang at 5.00 pm on Monday. The Canberra Scottish Fiddlers featured with our new multi-coloured shirts and our new logo designed by Kate Scott and Phil Green!

Chris Stout and Catriona McKay performed in Canberra Friday 15 April 2011

Renowned Shetland fiddler Chris Stout and Scottish Harpist Catriona McKay performed a fantastic concert to a full house at Canberra's Merry Muse on Friday 15 April 2011. They were ably supported by Lachlan Green of the Canberra Scottish Fiddlers performing with Jo Cresswell and Rita Woolhouse.

Canberra Scottish Fiddlers members performed at the 2010 National Folk Festival

The Canberra Scottish Fiddlers performed as part of the Celtic Fiddle Rally at the 2010 National Folk Festival in Canberra at Easter. The Fiddle Rally was conducted by Emma Nixon from the Brisbane Celtic Fiddle Club and coordinated by Trish Barker from the Sydney Scottish Fiddlers; the music we played is on their website.

Lachlan and Phil appeared at Woodford, Cygnet and Newstead Folk Festivals

Canberra Scottish Fiddlers member Lachlan Green, accompanied by Phil Green on guitar, bouzouki and bodhran, performed as a duo at the Woodford Folk Festival, held in Queensland from 27 December to 1 January 2010. Lachlan and Phil also played a week later at the Cygnet Folk Festival, held in Tasmania on 8-10 January 2010. Two weeks later they appeared at the Newstead Live! Music Festival, held at in central Victoria on 22-25 January 2010.

Lachlan and Phil performed as a duo at the 2009 National Folk Festival in Canberra. Lachlan also conducted a workshop on Scottish fiddle. Sheet music for the tune he taught, Twisted Bridge, can be found on our sheet music page. Scottish dance band Strathmannan, featuring Canberra Scottish Fiddlers Kate Scott and Mark Jenner, also performed at the National. (April 2009)
