Canberra Scottish Fiddlers
The Canberra Scottish Fiddlers is a group of Scottish fiddle music enthusiasts who meet regularly to learn, teach and rehearse their favourite Scottish fiddle tunes.
Formed in 1999 in Canberra, Australia's national capital, the group includes fiddlers of all ages and experience. The Fiddlers perform at folk clubs, festivals and community events. The Fiddlers’ repertoire reflects the global flowering of Scottish music, with some members teaching tunes to the group after attending fiddle camps and schools in Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, England, Sweden, Denmark, Spain and the US.
Informal rehearsals take place in convivial surroundings and are lots of fun. If you have a passion for Scottish fiddle music, this may be the small music group for you. Interested fiddlers are always welcome. Private lessons for beginners or more experienced players are available.
The Canberra Scottish Fiddlers usually meet every month, on a Sunday, from 3 – 6 pm.

"...one unifying soundscape...The one fact that seems to momentarily escape you throughout this musical journey, is that you are listening to just the two instruments. The harp and fiddle have so much to offer in terms of depth and range, that anything else would be an intrusion apart from the silence between the tracks. Breathtakingly beautiful stuff," NORTHERN SKY.
“One of the most impressive displays of composition and sheer musicianship allied to outstanding instrumental skill that I've seen in years,” ~ John Barrow ~ Folk Music Promoter, Edinburgh.
